there is no tug of war here. Its basically just rush towers to the infection spot and kill it.

The way the game works is, your base powers the squares near you. When you place any kind of tower in a powered square, they extend the power to the towers surrounding squares. The corruption starts as one spot and spreads at some speed.

All you have to do is build an econ tower as close to the infection as you can and keep doing that until you are in range to hit it with an actual damage tower. By that time your econ is such that the damage towers be upgraded right after placing them and kill the infection. Next level. Literally seconds. Do that 5 times and you win unlocking the harder difficulties...which as far as I can tell are just less/slower income and less "experience" ...but the experience is not important as, yes it gives you buffs but the game soooo easy as it is.

Here's what I would say: My 7 year old will probably love this. But its a 1$ or 2$ game. Sorry. I hate to bag on it. seems like some solo dev's first project. Adjust the price and I'd change my review. I would not at all mind spending 1-2 bucks on someone's first game to support them.

Suggestions: Make some kind of paper rock sizzors to the corruption or towers. Balance the damage so the bomb towers can't single handedly win. Make every purchase or tower placed cause a reaction from the spread so there is some kind of strat to placing or not placing towers. like, more econ the faster the spread. Something. Most of all, make sure you'd play it for hours yourself before releasing it.

Good premise, but so far not ready, and definitely not worth 20 bucks in its current state. I say if you are curious give it a look and ideally give the guy some feedback, but I wouldn't be surprised if in it's current state 90% of purchases will end up as refunds. If I stumble over it again half a year from now I'll give it another look and see if it's grown more into something that can actually keep my attention.
