Its a good package but is quite complex, but once you get used to it (by watching loads of youtube videos) it does what you would want it to do :)
This program is a real pain getting to start. It crashes randomly and crashes for me when I try to start the program up. I have followed every support tip they give on this problem for their program, but it doesn`t help me at all. When I buy something, it should work or at least patch the problem in some way and make it work, but no nothing. After what I have read on the internet, this problem has followed the program for some years now and the problem even exists on the newest 2016 version. Save your money and buy something else that works.
After A long time Of used I have to say this Is by far the worse Video editor to used. For some reason it can't read MP4 Files with a mic. Now I know the mic is not bad For i tested it with many mics and it still seems not to work and I spent 4 hours trying to get the right settings without luck. Plus the basic view of what you get is not worth it just stay away from this and Don't even trying geting the 2015, because for some reason its not free for me sense I got this on sale. The Worse Solfware ever.
Works great, learning curve is pretty small, but it is powerful to do a lot. Love the easy ability to timewarp footage and layer footage. One annoyance is the inability to move tracks up/down or insert tracks. You have to move the contents instead.
MAGIX may be associated with low-end music suites and sample libraries geared toward beginners but MAGIX Movie Edit Pro 2014 has surprisingly deep and well thought-out features for professionals. I've bought several low-end video editors and usually get frustrated with them offering the claimed features but finding no real control over how it works - for instance Commotion Pro. MAGIX allows you to get into the data to some extent.
A good example of this is how MAGIX performs image stabilization. It doesn't simply analyze and apply stabilization to a new generated video track - it saves it's analysis as tracking points that are visible on the timeline, giving you a lot more creative control over smoothing and/or zooming where needed.
The app is rather fast, utilizing full multithreading to perform precaching of video processing as you edit, which is nice when editing 4K content. There's a good selection of built-in effects filters and surprisingly this app supports several plugin types including from the freeware and very excellent VirtualDub.
Overall, I am really fond of this app and I've not run into any frustrations in the 4 different projects I've used it on.
While the program does an excellent job on my videos anyone that runs planetside 2 should consider other options. You will be unable to play with this program installed. I am having to uninstall after I finish editing my videos in order to play the game and then installing it in order to work on the next one.
I bought this program a few months ago and it's been a great boon to my editing. It has a lot of options and features that blow windows movie maker away, and I found it to be very stable in comparison. A lot of the work that can be done, it does for you if you know how to work with it. I would say there is a learning curve to this software, and it isn't the top #1 best out there, but when I bought it on sale, I bought it in blind faith, hoping it will do what needs to be done, and it has excelled at that.
MAGIX is good in many ways but is bad at the ways it needs to be good at. Exporting is difficult and most of the files it says it can export as it can't. And when I use it to edit my 50GB Fraps recording it exports it as 70GB.
It may be a bit limited compared to other editing software but I found it a perfect cheap start tool to get going compared to other more overpriced softwares out there
The interface is ugly and clumsy. All the presets look like something you'd find in a gradeschool classroom. The thing is so convoluted I don't know if you even CAN create your own effects, let alone how you would.
Plus, they released a sale for this early September 2014, which is when I bought it. Literally 1-2 weeks later they released the 2015 version, AS A NEW PURCHASE.
I was told at first that I could get a free upgrade for having bought it so recently, but I was then told I was not eligible because I bought it DURING THAT SALE.
They deliberately ripped off their own customers.
Oh, and it's also a crappy localization of German software with a lot of weird stuff (such as the application name) not properly translated.
This software downgrades you videos to 25FPS (frames per second) if it was filmed higher. The higher FPS you filmed in, the more unusable the raw footage becomes.
I can't even get this program to install correctly. I have tried everything from the steam forums and other google searches to try and fix the issue with no luck. I have also tried to contact steam support and Magix support about the issue, It has been almost 2 weeks and i have recieved no reply. So if your willing to throw $99 down the drain, go right ahead and purchase this software. It may work for you, and it may not. Your choice if you would like to take that risk.
With the success of Avatar in the Theaters, I needed to find new ways to express myself. My old Macbook Pro video editing software just couldn't live up to the standards of what I saw fit for successor movies to the critically acclaimed box office smash hit Avatar. MAGIX Movie Edit Pro 2014 was the only solution I saw that could allow my creativity to flow. I really hope you enjoy Avatar 2 and Avatar 3 in the coming years, and I welcome you to visit the Avatar World theme parks when they open in the near future.
EDIT: I haven't had freezing issues for a while, but it's still a decent video editing software. Nothing too advanced and recently, I've been needing more or improved features.
Freezes often, does not always cooperate, but still a good professional video editing piece of software.
I tried every possibility of exporting video even the none compresed, whatever I tried my video is always exported with a lost of quality, I bought it to convert easily but what the point if I loose quality ! :( HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT : ((((
You get what you pay for. MAGIX simplicity makes editing videos easy however this comes at a price. The program is flawed with bugs. Importing a simple video file can be a trying experience at time. The popular NVIDIA shadowplay software capture files is one such example. Some imports work flawlessly however some struggle with rendering and have audio issues. There are many complaints about this on the forums. Rendering can be very frustraiting. Sometimes the program works wonderfully sometimes it struggles hard to render simple video files. The program can randomly crash and at times it feels like im rolling the dice when it comes to performance issues, some days this program works great, some days you just want to hit that uninstall button. Buy with caution.
Pretty linear but mandatory video editor. A big step from iMovie or Windows movie maker, but not as advanced as some others out there. If your commited to using it and learning to use it efficently, then it will be well worth your money.
Brilliant software, has been working fine up until tonight when i tried to upload a video to youtube and i couldn't get it to work for love nor money, i posted multiple videos through magix before so i'm not sure what's going on with it.
So guys , this is the best programm for video editing. It's best choise for lets player's and just for making your own videos with cool effects.
If you still thinking which programm for video editing you need to choose make right choise and take magix.
This isn't advertising , i just want to tell you how amazing it's programm are.

At first had a few issues with sound on screen capture. But after an email to their Tech support, all was fixed quikly. After a little trial and error and watching a few how to vids, you can pick this program up very easily. I am glad that I picked this software up and already love how quickly it is to pump out lets play vids with it!
