As you advance through each level, you'll begin to uncover hints of the origin of this world and those who came before you. Why are you here? How did you get here? Why must you endlessly press on and GRAB THE CACHE? Everything looks weird and from time to time you come across things that look downright broken. Will scraps of information that others have left behind ultimately reveal this world's secrets and perhaps a way out?
POWER LANDMARKS
Touching, triangulating or otherwise mapping landmarks will power them up, revealing a part of the map.
TRIANGULATE TO REVEAL
Use your compass to triangulate between two powered landmarks, revealing an even larger area of the map.
MAP THE CACHE
Once you've spotted the cache zone, reveal it in its entirety to activate your metal detector.
FIND THE CACHE
Follow the metal detector's beeping to zero in on the dig spot.
GRAB THE CACHE
Dig with your shovel to reveal the cache and the collectible inside.

Very relaxing and charming experience. For fans of puzzle games like The Witness and Myst, games that teach you how to play them, but much easier to engage with and play casually.
This is a fun, simple, and relaxing environmental puzzle-solving game. It is very easy to pick-up-and play! You learn how to play with the help of in-game clues, so there is no reading or listening to boring tutorials. I love the colors, ambient sound, and overall aesthetic. The puzzles are not too difficult and appropriate for almost all ages and skill levels. There is no story per se, but you can find secrets in each stage that reward you with tidbits of humor and context beyond your immediate surroundings.
I'd love to see more content or the idea developed further! I would like to see more evolution in stages and puzzle concepts, however what was accomplished here is extremely polished and feels great every step of the way. Recommended for fans of Portal!
This was a fun game, with an interesting puzzle format. It filled both my needs for puzzles, and for exploration. Not much story (none until the end if you don't find any of the secrets), but the puzzles are all centered around a concept that it teaches in the beginning, and increases the difficulty without adding any new mechanics.
I dunno. The idea of a game based around cartography is cool, but I didn't find it particularly fun. There's not really any challenge to the game, just repeating the same basic steps over and over until you finish a level.
1. Activate the landmarks you can touch.
2. Activate any landmarks you can't touch using the landmarks from step 1.
3. Slowly uncover the map by clicking on the landmarks until you find and uncover the whole cache zone.
4. Run around the cache zone with the metal detector until you find the cache.
You don't need orient yourself or even think about the structure of the map, uncovered areas show your exact location and orientation, and maps are designed in such a way that, as long as you understand the basic mechanics of activating landmarks, it's almost always obvious what the next step should be.
To the game's credit, the walking speed is quite fast and you have an option to make it even faster in the menu. But, on the flipside, the interface is slow. Each interaction with a landmark takes a couple of seconds to play the same animation every time, massively slowing down how quickly you can chart the map. This isn't really a problem because it's usually obvious roughly where the cache zone is even on the big maps, but it slows the game down without contributing much.
Other reviewers look like they enjoyed themselves, so maybe it's one of those podcast/relaxation games that's better treated as something to keep your hands occupied while mentally engaged with something else. The music was nice and chill, the sense of humour is fun, and I respect the developer coming up with a creative new mechanic to build a game around, but unfortunately I find the actual gameplay just tedious.
A gentle orienteering game. Explore a slice of fantastical wilderness to find trig points, and triangulate using sight-lines to satisfyingly reveal parts of the map. A balm for the soul, a walking simulator with a purpose and a definitive end. Delightful!
The music randomly cut out at one point and I thought this was going to turn into a horror game
I really enjoyed the concept of this game and don't regret buying it, but I just felt it could be so much more than what I got. The mechanic is interesting, and I was really hoping to see it expanded upon and it just wasn't. I also didn't really find the rewards that interesting, and the secrets were kind of always tucked away in the exact same fashion.
That being said, I think this genre/developer has promise. If you are interested in a ~4 hour puzzle game that isn't just another of the same thing we've seen a million times over, I do think this is worth playing. And I hope the sequel takes the concept much further and gets more creative with it.
Cool little cartography puzzle game. Fairly easy
A zen game that I enjoyed playing with my kids! They got the rhythm of sighting towers to uncover the map and finding the buried treasure, and we all enjoyed searching out the secret in each map.
Cache Grabbers is a clever take on the puzzle genre where your solutions involve focusing on sight lines and traversal. Each map has landmarks that can be used for triangulating locations in order to fill in a map and find the titular cache hidden in the level. It's got sharp level design that uses the tools at its disposal in every way it can, forcing you to use your brain to get through its 30 stages. The combination of music and visuals make it a chill experience, giving you ample reason to do some extra exploration to find the games many hidden secrets, which are the source of the overarching narrative. On top of that, it runs perfectly on the Steam Deck, despite not being listed as being verified.
A smart, satisfying game that doesn't overstay its welcome, but is chill enough to return to in order to unlock its rewarding achievements. Looking forward to more from Bear Minimum Games!
Do you like puzzles? Do you appreciate sardonic nihilistic humor? Yes AND yes? Well what are you waiting for? Buy this game!
This is a relaxing puzzler that really taps into my zen place. It's a game that I will come back to time and again when I just need a little something to calm and feel good from an otherwise stressful day.
I thoroughly enjoyed this. I burned through it in a single 3 hour session, and came back later to complete the achievements. I can't think of another game in this category, but I guess The Witness is in the same neighborhood? This is really one-of-a-kind, and worth your time.
Cache Grabbers is a nice, short game that lets you relax and unwind after a long day. I've never played a game where triangulation is the primary game mechanic, but this game shows that there is certainly a level of satisfaction with crossing lines and coloring in maps. While the puzzles never quite crossed the "challenging" threshold, they were all interesting enough to keep me playing. There's a little bit of a learning curve when initially figuring out what the game wants you to do, but once you figure out the handful of mechanics it's smooth sailing. In fact, there were many instances where the game had a "designated" way to solve the map, but the mechanics were open enough to allow me to shortcut and avoid needing to mark some towers. I enjoyed the feeling that this gave, it made me feel like I was forging my own solution.
I did at some points think that the game was a little too slow, particularly with the map. Every time you mark or draw a line from a tower, it does a pinging effect on said tower. While useful at the beginning when players are still trying to wrap their heads around the mechanics, by the last few levels I just wished that the map would immediately draw the line I wanted. The walk speed also felt a little slow to my tastes, and I ended up walking diagonally everywhere as that gives you a bit of a speed boost.
Despite my nitpicks, I quite enjoyed my time with the game. The music is calming, and I liked the voiceover naming all the cache I'm grabbing. Great first outing for Bear Minimum Games, looking forward to seeing what other ideas they come up with.
A very thoughtful and chill game!
I loved exploring and filling in the map. The secrets were fun to find and had a good sense of humor. This is a very unique kind of puzzle game that's very satisfying to play!
I enjoyed Cache Grabbers a lot. The name might imply more of a frantic, wacky type of action game, but it's actually a chill orienteering puzzle game with a dry sense of humor. The music is great, and the puzzles make you feel smart. I hope there will be a Cache Grabbers 2.
I like this game a lot. There are no timers, health bars, enemies…just you and your tools in the trees. It’s very peaceful. I had trouble learning the UI at first but once it clicked, I was on my way easily.
The music is very relaxing, and all of the sound effects “fit” and are pleasing. The end of level chime and the “shhh!” are my favorites.
A perfect game for winding down and chilling. A+
A great puzzle game works hard to make YOU feel clever for solving it, rather than trying to make you think the creator is clever for making it, and in this game it totally works. I spent a lot of time not necessarily heading straight for the objective, but uncovering a lot of the map and trying to find the most remote places I could triangulate with the barest sliver of tower, striving to solve in ways that may not have been expected. The fact that more often than not I was allowed to do this shows how dedicated the game is to fun and exploring. I really honestly had a blast.
I am also rarely one to play a game with headphones if I am not doing multiplayer/chatting at the same time, but the great sound design and especially the chill music made me slap them on and just zone out while I played, getting completely immersed.
it's always a good sign when a game leaves you wanting more!
A unique game, to say the least. It is a bit hard to understand and navigate through the game, though I do enjoy the simplicity and secrets. The general feeling and personality of the game is definitely something I enjoy, and is something that Triple A game studios will never be able to achieve. It's a little repetitive, but in a good way. I especially enjoy the "caches" you get at the end. A rubber duck? Hell yeah! All in all, I am quite impressed by the game, especially considering the fact that it has no major bugs day of release. A very good game for a first release. Godspeed, Bear Minimum Games!
I've been enjoying it. It is a chill game about mapping puzzles.
