File Destined

This one was pretty good. I don’t remember all the details since it’s been a while since I played it, but I do remember it had some solid jump scares and a surprisingly decent story especially for a game in this price range.

Usually, games like this have little to no real story, and you just play them for a quick change of pace. But this one was a bit different. The story wasn’t amazing, but it was definitely better than what you'd expect at this level. All in all, a decent experience that's worth checking out.

Decent horror game.

Very good game on a serious topic.

For those who don't like the crime scene simulator idea, it is integral to Oliver's story (as are the seemingly random items). This game is like playing a movie and about the same length. Many say they could figure out the twist. If you've read (yes, there was the book first) or seen Shutter Island, the premise is reminiscent of that plot. Gameplay is simple and very linear, not allowing you to progress from an area until you've found all relevant items, which I rather liked. This makes the achievements almost impossible to miss and there is very little, if any, backtracking. There are jumpscares, but nothing can actually hurt you. Again, a plus for me. This is a simulator after all. I also liked the lighter mechanic. That being what it is explains the mouse sensitivity and walking-only pace. To top it off, the end credits are an absolute must watch! Highly recommend this one.

This game has a lot of fresh ideas. It's basically your standard walking simulator but it features an interesting story, lots of background information and also some scares that I haven't seen before. It took me about 2 hours to find all the clues and watch the ending which kinda surprised me. Hopefully we will see more games from this team in the future.

Well, it's really atmospheric and creepy. In that sense, File Destined succeeds. This is basically a tech demo with some arbitrary tasks to freak you out. There are not actual monsters, just lots of unnerving scenes and jump scares. Unfortunately, when the story finally emerges, we are beat over the head with some kind of demented moralist tale about drinking and despair. I wouldn't spend too much money on this, and it only lasted a little over an hour for me, but if you need a eerie, this will deliver.

Neat start

Boring walking simulator. First of all, the premise is god awful, I'm in a crime solving simulator? Really? Second, the game gives like 0 chance for any tension to form, but tries to be jump scare city from the get-go and it blends with the premise to just being boring. Thirdly, it's one of those walking simulators that have very specific checkpoints for the next "thing" to happen, which leads to you walking around an area several times zooming in on random stuff and pressing E on the (far too many) random junk items you can interact with for no reason, endlessly until the thing happens and you can move on to your other boring loop. Fourthly, honestly the voice acting is annoying. For a good to have good vocal ques they need to be varied, but you hear the same line for each type of item, and it gets tiring.

Don't get me wrong walking simulator horror games can be good, but they have to be done right, focusing on atmospheric tension and streamlined zone progression so the player never engages with the game as a "game". Alas, this game does not achieve that.

its an okay walking creepy simulator. You try to find who the murderer is the graphics on this game are pretty solid really nicely well done but the game cant be in the category of horror... creepy? sure.

Incredible work of art. These guys know Spooky. As a loving father this hit hard. I'll buy anything Metavision releases next without hesitation.

Unexpected ... very fabulous game

One of the best indie horror games i’ve ever played. If you love horror you gotta play this one. No regrets.
