The Devil's Face

A beautiful atmospheric thriller!Such a good story with many aspects of the orthodox religion and with many good jumpscares ! I recommend it!

Not great. Most of the story is relaying on the main menu. After that it's just a confusing mess, with more camera cuts than Requiem for a Dream. It also didn't get me to warm to it at the start, with having a very hard to spot key drop out from behind a painting that I needed a walkthrough to spot, and then it seemed to bug out and not allow a critical door to open, and forced me to load an earlier save (also spotted via walkthrough).
It's not really scary, there's a couple of jump scares but it's mostly about channelling you through a linear series of rooms and spouting christian-flavoured hocus pocus at you.

From what I understand, the creator is Greek. I want to say that it was a very nice experience!! I finished it at 12 in the evening and I have to add that it encouraged me to believe in our Father even more!!!!! Thanks.

I was shocked how this game turned out great visualz a must play if you enjoy getting scared and creepy enviormental atmosphere jumpscares as well and felt like hell there they really embodied what hell can be like .

Good horror game but using the achievements to tell story elements is a very odd choice.

Fascinating story of a man's descent into Hell after an accident that took his brother's life. Very reminiscent of the Silent Hills P.T. with its walking simulator play style, with amazing graphics. Though I'm not a huge fan of jump scares, there were a few in here that did get to me. This was a very interesting short story and I'm curious to see more from these devs.

Another night, another mediocre horror game

My friend is attracted to the lava people.

I've been (attempting to) kick back every evening and play/start a horror game, whether it be as small as this or a longer more fledged experience. Last night's pick was The Devil's Face, a psychological horror/walking simulator sort of blend with some interesting visuals. The story has an interesting premise to it, and not one I've seen explored in such a way in many other horror games.

This does come with a negative however, and it's tied to the fact that the game is barely an hour long. With a story and idea as ambiguous as the one the developer/s is trying to tell, the game needs to be longer, with more game play mechanics. I'd love to see this story expanded upon because I felt the ending to be incredibly lacklustre in contrast to what could have been. There's potential here to tell a terrifyingly grounded story despite the surreal hellscapes you go through.

I will admit I don't really like the usage of sound effects I've heard in plenty of other games, the sound in general in this game is pretty generic, and kinda loud? Sometimes it works to its advantage, even if it's completely accidental. There is an instance in which a creature pops up outta nowhere and zooms towards the player with a sound so egregious I had hiccups afterwards. Right on cue with the jumpscare however, the game crashed and I was led to believe it was intentional. I soon found out this was not the case but it was a decent spook.

Also I find it amusing that the game starts off with a disclaimer saying that it uses footage from real exorcisms and actual documents, but then follows this disclaimer with another saying that none of it is based in reality and any similarities are coincidence. A little contradictory if you ask me.

Most of your time spent in this game will be wondering through P.T-esque corridors, getting jumped by Satan, and running away from a couple of monsters, but the moments where the game shines is visually, during the sequences outside this room, there's some seriously trippy sh!t in this game and it's effect is doubled by the constant reflecting of everything. I was worried i'd get sick of it but it's quite pleasing to look at. The colour-scheme being all red is an interesting choice and one I was a little apprehensive of at first due to being colourblind, but i tweaked some contrast settings on my monitor and was sweet to go.

also the lighter mechanics are kinda unnecessary, I don't really have anything else to say about them.

The Devil's Face had moments that surprised me, but they were weighed down by the short runtime, underdeveloped story and lack of interesting mechanics. I'm still going to give it a solid recommendation however, due to me being picky when it comes to what I consider a "good horror game."

I paid $7 for this game. Would I say you should do the same? maybe, to support the developers, but also for what you're getting, I personally would wait for a small sale.

This is fine, it's harmless, it'll scare plenty of people, it just has problems, as all games do. I'm excited to see where Tzavis Studios goes from here, and be sure to wishlist their upcoming game "Into the Depths of Despair"

One of the most beautiful horror game I could have played. The story is amazing followed by the actual real orthodox beliefs, this game is scary and I love it!

The game was nice. Short (it took me 1hr 45min), i finished it quick. I was satisfied although i would prefer not being so loud in jumpscares it hurt a bit my ears XD (prob my fault too bcs i forgot to adjust the sound properly). The game started in greek for me which is fine since i am from Greece, but i do not know if people who dose not know greek will be able to find the language setting easily. The only other problem it was with the lights in some rooms they where glitching (i think) and it was giving a bad flickering light. All and all though it was fun and the puzzle where fun to solve as well. I would say a solid 7/10 considering its price.

My version of hell is playing a game that claims to have a deeper meaning then just has a bunch of cheap jumpscares between fumbling around in the dark trying to find keys to open doors.

Although I must admit that Tzavis knows how to make some great looking trippy environments, The Devil's Face really got annoying with its abundance of extremely loud jump scares and sudden cuts. Normally I'd advice to give this game a chance, especially for the price, but just throwing loud noises at players to scare them just feels really cheap to me.

If you're into that stuff because you're a game streamer and get your views by playing jump scare games, go for it. If you're looking for a more subtle horror walking sim, The Devil's Face probably won't be your kind of game.

This is one of the best horror experiences I've had in a long while! Really unique visuals, it can get very trippy at times. The writing is also on point, you'll reference your book of demons a lot as you move through some mildly loop-like scenario's as you delve through the characters afterlife, and the lines are well written and well voiced. it felt very much like P.T. at times, but grew past that comparison into its own game very well. You've also got multiple endings on hand and some secrets to discover. I loved this game and I'll keep a close eye out for future projects from this dev! (not for nothing, my lights actually flickered wildly as I streamed this, actual demons?)

WHY IS NO ONE PLAYING THIS GAME? The imagery, the atmosphere, the narrative, and being able to push redemption. This game has alot put behind it and is well thought out. Tzavus Studios Love the game and please, Make more like this My community Loved it and so did I!

I would have liked to get farther in the game but it was kinda like hell tryin' to figure out what to do at the start of the Denial chapter. Also I would have liked for it to have voice acting. There are peeps out there willin' to do it for notoriety. Still I'll thumb it up since it was playable and an original game.
