They need a pro tier other than just casual and competitive. 2v2 matches seem to be loibsided

Genuinely extremely fun. Think of this as similar to rocket league, but 1000% better in pretty much every way. Its fun to play, engaging, and to top it all off, the art style is pretty fun as well! 10/10 would recommend.

Think Rocket League, but its VR and bows and arrows instead of cars. Fantastic concept, but has a steep learning curve.

Decent game, but a pretty heavy ask for $20. Should've MSRP'd at $10 max (and then gotten sharp discounts). The Quest version is $10, but if this is the "premium PCVR" version, that's even worse. The store page info is laughably non-existent about what the difference is between the two versions of the game and why one cost twice as much.

You're bound to your usual 2020's style battle pass progression for unlocks, insanely uninspired. Furthermore, battle passes don't belong in games you have to pay for. The "premium" tier is included with PCVR, whereas I guess you have to buy it as an add-on if you're on Quest.

The matchmaking is terrible, even beyond the abysmal player counts (11 peak online players since launch). Game has crossplay with the various other systems, but it doesn't really show. 1v1 is massively boring, same as it is in most 1v1 situations, there's only so much variety, especially if there are skill discrepancies. You can exclude 1v1, but then matchmaking takes eons.

Thankfully they added some single-player courses with the latest update, but the execution sucks. You need to go from the menu, to the 'training range' area, from where you can wander to the portals for the courses. You can do this while matchmaking, which is nice, but when it finds the players, it pulls you out of the course, into the 'match lobby', before getting all the players connected. So you then sit there waiting for everyone to connect, which I burned a casual half-hour of just getting looped on this. When everyone doesn't join, it kicks you back to the main menu and you restart, disregarding any progress of your course. I get that they're somewhat meant to be small enough to do quickly, but I don't like being rushed along versus a random variable of matchmaking in a game with ~50 players.

Movement is an acquired taste, maybe. It doesn't have much ability to tweak it, and on Index, is less than enjoyable. Even trying community keybinds, I settled on something I liked from making my own, but it still doesn't feel good for me.

The maps are pretty, but you don't really get to see a lot of them with everything going on, so not much of a win.

I think it would take a pretty heavy revamp of base systems, and I don't see that happening. Not a bad game, as much as one where most of the systems don't really work, or they suck. Hitting the ball with the arrow works, and the blocking mechanic is cool, but the rest of the game crumbles quickly.

Bonus: their roadmap it looks like they want to add a "store to buy unique items" store? Surely that won't require a premium paid currency.

Nock is such an incredible and underrated game. It has some of the highest replayability value I've ever seen in a VR title, coupled with an awesome and tight-knit community (check out the discord!). The gameplay keeps you on edge and has a super high skill ceiling, meaning watching yourself progress is incredibly satisfying. Also it can be a surprisingly good workout. Buy Nock rn bro why are you even considering not scroll out of the reviews section

Nock is by far the most connected community of players I have seen among VR games and with such a diverse population. The game itself is a blast to play and the latest updates with the social lobby and PCVR have taken this game to entirely different level. Would highly recommend anyone to purchase this game and if new to the game, take the time to connect with others and just enjoy learning and progressing in skill level. The graphics for quest 2 were great and this steam release made the graphics and gameplay even more enjoyable (didn’t think that was possible)..The game is borderline addictive and highly recommend joining the discord server.

I've been addicted to this game for the last 20 months. I own other VR games, but everytime I go to put on that headset I always end up playing Nock. Nock is the best, fastest VR Esport out there. Simple to learn. The movement is soo good. Like you are skating around the arena. As for the bow system, you can't think of it like a traditional bow. Gotta pull back far and shoot as quick as possible. You will work up a sweat in this game. The social lobby is fantastic. Great to meet other players. Ask people for help and someone will offer you tips and tricks for getting better.

Also has one of the best Discord communities out there. Constantly running tournaments, and other activities for the community. I highly recommend, and if you see me in the lobby say "hi".

Very fun, I hope a VR Esports league picks this game up i can see the future of this game being big if it gets the traction it deserves. Very satisfying game play feels good to win or make plays.

I've been playing this for many, many hours on the Quest standalone headset, and I'm very excited to finally have this PC release for improved graphics and casting software.

Nock is a fast-paced game with super tight controls on shooting and movement. The matches are a workout and the social lobby is a great place to meet other players. I can't recommend it enough!

Dog water index controls, your character is flying around the arena like their feet are lubricated and you cannot hold still on any surface, even in the park/lobby area. Crank your grip threshold up all you want, it doesn't help. This is a quest-only game that has been ported to SteamVR in a less-than-functional state and should not be $20 since they're offering the bare minimum in accessibility and binding options for non-quest headsets. If you buy the game you better be prepared to get rolled by people decades younger than you with cheaper headsets because the control schemes perform better.

No matchmaking either! You will spend your first 10+ games getting rolled by the 3 other people playing the game on steam doing aerial dribbles over your head. Once you get through 10 games you can play ranked, then you can play 10 more games in ranked until the game realizes you need to play against other new players. By then two hours have passed and they will deny your refund.

WOW, this game is very impressive. Addicting and rewarding gameplay with intuitive controls and polished design. I am hooked.

amazing game and only even better with the new pcvr version. much better graphics, ping, and fps compared to the original quest version. definitely worth the $20

I've been playing Nock for nearly 20 months now, since it was in the Alpha stages on Quest 2.
I cannot recommend this game enough, the movement is so intuitive and different from other vr games, the archery mechanics are east to pick up and the community will help new players every step of the way.

There are currently 5 different areas for 1v1, 2v2 and 3v3, ranked and casual.
You can make custom games with gameplay modifiers and have up to 6 friends in your party.
There are rare items to collect each with a mint number so I think trading is a possibility eventually.
There is FULL Bhaptics support, spectator cams for content creators, the list goes on!

This update just added a social lobby to hang out in between games and there is no region locking so you can truly play with players from all around the globe.
The best thing is the players that are amazingly good will always help you if you ask them, the game has full crossplay with PS5, Quest2, Quest Pro and pico 4.

good game, rocket league with arrows, very polished, great sportsmanship so far, fun character models, fund arrow soccer game, was better than expected, don't be discouraged after your first few games, you'll get the hang of it.

Nock is definitely one of those "easy to learn, hard to master" kind of games! I think it has the potential to be the next big VR e-sport.

The simple gameplay of using the bow and arrow to hit the ball is extremely fun, and the included cosmetic/season pass levelling system makes the game quite addictive as you level up, collecting new bows, playermodels, and blocks. The movement controls have you gripping the controllers and throwing your hands back, forth, up, and down to move around, and it works really well with the games Rocket-League-esque style, it for sure wouldn't be the same if it just had simple stick-based movement.

It's got a pretty solid matchmaking system with 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3 options that span across both casual and competitive, each different mode has it's merits and I'll be swapping between them quite a lot! Usually I play 1v1 until I find someone I like and we can party up in 2v2s together!

On the topic of partying up, the game has a great party system! You can basically just think up any code made of a few characters and have that be your party/room code, you can have one you agree with beforehand or make up one on the fly and send it to your mates. I'm not sure if it also integrates with the Steam friends list, but the code system is pretty good, especially because it facilitates crossplay with your friends! Yeah so this game has crossplay and is out on most major VR platforms, the game has a tight-knit but very active community, now spanning across PCVR, Quest, PSVR 2, and Pico headsets.

As the game has expanded out onto different platforms, the recent addition of crossplay does come with some downsides though. Do be aware that some people playing the game are very sweaty, even in casual matches. As the game has been out for ages on Quest some players have become very good at the game (probably because the Quest has about 3 games worth playing lmao) but I'd say definitely tough it out if you keep getting matched with high level players, because a simple friendly match is really fun and kind of a work out on the arms by the end of it!

Hopefully the cross-play element of it keeps the community thriving. I think if the devs play their cards right in terms of marketing and trailers this game could absolutely blow up. They should definitely make a big boast about being one of the few multiplayer VR games across almost every major VR platform, and really put themselves out more, play to their strengths in terms of what they've got. If it was my game I'd make a trailer showing people across all different platforms picking up their headsets (Valve Indexes, Quests, PSVR, Pico) and all partying up together.

So yeah this game is super fun when played against non-sweaty/toxic players and I think I'm going to sink a lot of hours on it now that it's on PC. Fingers crossed the playerbase grows from here!
