I have played this game for years and i still come back to it now and again. You can play it like two boy scouts in a rowboat or the sea dog who is trying to sail 2500 km on fuel for 1750 km. You spend days (in game time) looking for the kill only to find your the prey. Your heart pounds, your fingers sweat and you find the reason sailors swear. But if your smart you might just turn the table and sink the B#$@$#^ and then get a clean run on the convoy. Save your game when you can as the heat comes on so will that phone or text and you wonder how good a friend you are if you don't take it. There is a learning curve but it is worth it. good luck and good hunting.
It's good and realistic but very difficult to properly learn and sometimes feels overly realistic. Still would recommend for submarine lovers that are willing to put a lot of effort into learning a new game.

love this game. its the best subsim for people with older computers or computers with low end graphics cards. gameplay is fun and exciting and the single missions are awesome

I like figuring out the games dynamics. Learning how the controls work and how to apply that to developing a strategy. I'm not very far into the game and I'm a sucker for simulations. We'll see how it goes.

Game don't save sometimes, pisses me off!
This game was one of my favorites back in the mid 2000s... I'm thinking about finding a way to reinstall the CD, even though my PC no longer has a CD-ROM drive. This Steam version crashes so much it's almost unplayable. I've yet to complete a single war patrol without the game crashing. Nothing like spending 2 hours plotting a course to your patrol area, finding a convoy, stalking it for a half hour, sinking 4 ships with your first salvo, 2 more with your second, making a miraculous escape, limping your way back to port....almost there... AAAAANNND game crashes.
Im really bad at this game but its still really fun and realitic, even though it was published in 2009 or so
